Galway Simon Community

The Galway Simon Sleep Out is to show solidarity with those facing homelessness in our community. We do this with a clear vision in mind: A community where everyone has a place to call home.

Raising Funds to Prevent Homelessness

The fear and trauma of losing your home is a stark reality for more and more people in Ireland today. We need your help to safeguard our services so we can to continue providing supports to those who are living with the threat of homelessness in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.

Over the past eight years, our Sleep Out Champions have raised a staggering €538,000.

These funds enable us to provide advice, support and practical assistance to help people stay in their own home or find a new home, and to continue to live as part of their local community.

WITH YOUR HELP WE WILL….

  • PREVENT PEOPLE FROM EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS IN GALWAY, MAYO, AND ROSCOMMON.
Over the past two years, over 90% of the people who have engaged with our homelessness prevention services did not go into emergency accommodation. However, the number of people turning to us for help continues to grow, due to the lack of affordable accommodation and the rising cost of living.
  • PROVIDE CRITICAL, WRAPAROUND SUPPORT TO THOSE MOST IN NEED.
We want people to leave the fear of homelessness behind them for good. Our Social Integration and Health & Wellbeing teams provide specialist support in physical and mental health, addiction recovery and life skills, as well as access to training, education and employment.
  • RISE TO NEW CHALLENGES POSED BY THE HOUSING AND COST-OF-LIVING CRISES.
Regardless of the economic and social constraints, we work with people for as long as they need us and provide ongoing assistance and support so people can leave the fear of homelessness behind them for good.
